Significance of White Roses

by Elizabeth Crosthon

Roses are simplistic, in fashion and pieces of art . Each rose color has its own meaning and presents a different message. There are many different rose colors available to fit any mood or occasion. A rose is a great one to display your very personal feelings.

White is a color symbolic of many positive things, such as marriage, purity, virtue, and innocence. White is linked to emotions of harmony and serenity. Because of all these positive associations, the white rose has always been a favorite flower and is used a lot in wedding ceremonies. The breathtaking purity and simplistic beauty of a white rose can’t be beat. They can mean a number of different messages, all of which convey deep feelings

White roses are sometimes called the “flower of light”. White is often considered pure, and unlike red roses, which symbolize passion, white roses are signs of true love ..

What is Love?

I’m not sure why, but Valentine’s Day tends to cause a lot of chaos in people’s lives. I guess it makes people think that love should be some overly romantic, gooshy feeling and when they look at their own relationships, they feel very unsatisfied. I’ve known a few couples that have broken up over the past couple weeks and I wonder if the impending holiday had any influence.

I’m left thinking, What is Love? Is it the hearts and flowers and candlelit dinners that Valentine’s Day promotes? Is it the swooning, clothes ripping passion that is displayed on soaps? I personally don’t think any of that is really love. I think those things are lust. And relationships start out in a lustful state but then with time as relationships continue, the lust starts to fade and becomes real love.

Real love is a quieter, calmer feeling that allows you and your partner ..
